What Causes Rising Damp in East Rand Homes — And How to Stop It

If you live on the East Rand, the chances are high that at least one wall in your home shows the classic signs of rising damp: bubbling paint, salt deposits along the skirting, a tide-mark up to about a metre off the floor, and that musty smell that never quite goes away.
