What do Damp Gone DIY kits cost?
Damp Gone Organic is R300 for 1L, R1 200 for 5L and R4 500 for 25L. Damp Gone Xtreme is R450 for 1L, R1 500 for 5L and R5 500 for 25L. Those are the prices you pay at checkout.
Why is professional damp proofing not priced per square metre here?
Because scope varies so much between jobs — wall condition, how much plaster has to come off, access, and whether one or both faces need treatment. We inspect the property first and then quote on the actual work, rather than publishing a rate that may not match your wall.
Is DIY damp proofing cheaper?
Yes — a Damp Gone kit costs a fraction of a professional job and suits sound walls with early-stage damp. If plaster is already blown or salt-contaminated, professional stripping and treatment is usually the better long-term value.
What makes one damp quote much higher than another?
Plaster removal and re-plastering, wall height, scaffolding or access, salt contamination, and whether the quote covers only the visible patch or the whole affected wall. Always compare what is included, not just the headline number.
Do you charge for the inspection?
We do a professional inspection to diagnose the real cause before quoting — rising damp, penetrating damp and condensation each need a different fix, and pricing a job without that diagnosis is guesswork.
