Mould Remediation

Mould Removal in the East Rand

Mould is a sign of trapped moisture. We remove the black mould and treat the damp behind it, so it does not come back.

What causes mould

Black or green patches in bathroom corners, behind beds, or along the cold side of an outside wall are almost always mould. It grows where trapped moisture meets a cold surface. The usual sources are:

  • Condensation: poor ventilation, no extractor fan, or laundry dried indoors.
  • Penetrating damp: cracked outside plaster or failed sealant around windows.
  • Rising damp: a tide mark at the bottom of the wall.
  • Bathrooms: warm air, wet surfaces and cold outside walls all together.

Mould questions and answers

Which areas do you cover for mould remediation?

We serve the East Rand and surrounding Gauteng areas including Boksburg, Benoni, Kempton Park, Edenvale and Germiston. For larger commercial jobs we also travel across Gauteng. Call or WhatsApp and we'll confirm if you're in our coverage zone.

What does the mould remediation process involve?

We start with an on-site moisture and mould Professional Inspection, then isolate affected areas to stop spore spread. Our team removes contaminated materials where necessary, treats surfaces with anti-microbial agents, and applies a moisture barrier to prevent regrowth. We finish with air-scrubbing and a full post-treatment inspection.

How long does mould remediation take?

Small residential treatments (up to 20 m²) are usually completed in 1 day. Medium jobs (20 to 60 m²) take 1 to 2 days. Large or deeply penetrated areas may need 2 to 3 days plus drying time. We'll give you a clear timeline during the professional inspection.

Is the treatment safe for children and pets?

Yes. We use low-toxicity, professional-grade products that are safe for residential environments once dry. We recommend vacating treated rooms for 4 to 6 hours after application as a precaution, and we ventilate the space thoroughly before handover.

What's included in the R200 / m² mould remediation service?

The rate includes the professional inspection, full surface and airborne mould treatment, removal of lightly contaminated plaster or sealant, application of a preventative moisture barrier, air-quality scrubbing, and a 6-month workmanship guarantee. Structural rebuilds or full replastering are quoted separately if needed.

Do you offer a guarantee on mould work?

Absolutely. Every mould remediation job carries a 6-month workmanship guarantee. If mould returns in the same treated area within the guarantee period due to our treatment, we will re-treat at no extra labour cost. Conditions apply if the underlying moisture source is not resolved, and we'll explain this during inspection.
